Estella Loomis McCandless Assistant Professor of Art Sharmistha Ray’s latest projects span global exhibitions, creative performances, and thought-provoking discussions.

Group Exhibition at Pen + Brush Gallery

From January 23 to March 22, 2025, Ray’s work will be featured in “Free, Fearless, Fantastical” at Pen + Brush Gallery, New York. Curated by Bina Sarkar Ellias, the show celebrates liberation and creativity with contributions from international artists and writers. Ray is presenting three new paintings that reflect the exhibition’s theme of resilience and imagination in response to patriarchal constraints.
