Kovak’s work will be featured in the University of Mary Washington’s biennial exhibition, highlighting the latest in Mid-Atlantic painting.

Kristen Letts Kovak, Senior Associate Dean for Academics and Student Success and Associate Teaching Professor, is among the select artists featured in the 2024 Mid-Atlantic New Painting Biennial. Hosted by the University of Mary Washington Galleries, the exhibition spotlights works from artists across Pennsylvania, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Running from November 7, 2024, through January 19, 2025, the biennial serves as a platform to celebrate contemporary painting and foster regional artistic exchange. Kovak’s piece, Fern Hollow, joins 76 other works in a show curated by MANP 2024 juror Heather Hakimzadeh, Senior Curator at Virginia MOCA, from nearly 600 submissions by more than 200 artists.
