Professor Britt Ransom‘s solo exhibition “Arise and Seek,” which was on view at Pitzer College Art Galleries January 28 – March 25, was reviewed by Renée Reizman in the May-June 2023 issue of Artillery Magazine.
Reizman writes, “In ‘Arise and Seek,’ Ransom amplifies her ancestors’ role in the civil rights movement, commemorating their activism with architectural forms, sculptures, photographs and ephemera. […] Much of the show mediates upon whose stories are told in monuments, and Ransom tries to fit her own family’s history into the gaps left by federal preservation.”
