Felipe Castelblanco (MFA ’13) received the 2026 Aesthetica Art Prize from Aesthetica Magazine for the film “Tunda: A Quantic Plant and the Devil’s Breath.”
Avy Claire (BFA ’78) participated in “Seen at the End of the World,” a group show at the Cynthia Winings Gallery in Blue Hill, Maine, which opened August 23.
Oreen Cohen (MFA ’14) was featured in a solo exhibition of large-scale painting and sculpture at Tissue Farm in Confluence, PA, from August 8-September 21.
Jen DeLuna (BFA ’21) is currently in residence as at the Pioneer Works Visual Arts Residency through Fall 2026.
Jamie Earnest (BFA ‘16) started a new position as the Upper School Studio Arts Instructor at The Ellis School in Pittsburgh.
Catharine Fichtner (MFA ’95) showed work at the Biggs Museum of American Art as a 2026 Individual Artist Fellow.
Joyce Kozloff (BFA ’64) participated in the Feminist Interview Project, speaking with Helena Reckitt and Maura Reilly for Art Journal.
Christina Lee (BFA ’14) won an Honorable Mention for the Comic Studies Society’s Gilbert Seldes Public Scholarship Award for her Comics Journal essay about her MFA research in Women in Underground Comix, “The Complicated Feminist History of Underground Comix.” Lee’s small press, Alright Editions, is also nominated for an Ignatz Award for Suerynn Lee’s comic, Two Snakes, in the Outstanding Minicomic category.
Jaewook Lee (MFA ’15) received the 2026 AHL–T&W Foundation Contemporary Visual Art Award.
Ester Petukhova (BFA ’23) was invited by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards to moderate a Creative Careers Panel for National Medalists on June 9, and was invited to share the impacts the awards program had on her own artistic journey and continued pursuit of higher education at it’s Next Century Gala.
Diane Samuels (BFA ’70, MFA ’76) was honored by PA Humanities by being named a Window Keeper, which recognizes Pennsylvanians whose work strengthens communities through the humanities, for co-founding City of Asylum.
Rebecca Shapass (MFA ’23) is a 2026 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship Program Recipient for Digital/Electronic Arts.
Jeffrey Augustine Songco (BFA ’05) is the Padnos Distinguished Artist-in-Residence at Grand Valley State University.
Barbara Strasen (BFA ’63) opened a solo exhibition, “INSIDE THE IMAGINAL REALM,” at Billis Williams Gallery on September 12.
Moses Williams (MFA ’17) joined musician Chaz Prymek at Kimball Art Center on July 31 for an immersive sound-and-video performance titled “The Splinter Beneath a Fractured Star.”
Sherri Wolfgang (BFA ’83) showed in “Art USA 250,” curated by Amy Reilly, at George Billis Gallery from July 16-September 5.
