Professor Jongwoo Jeremy Kim delivered a paper titled “White Man in the Orient: Frederic Leighton Up the Nile” at the Center for Advanced Studies in the Visual Arts (CASVA) in the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC. Dr. Kim’s research decolonizing the imperial narratives of race and anatomy was conducted as part of CASVA’s seminar series, Art Academies: Europe and the Americas, c. 1600-1900.
