What do you get when you combine “walking tacos” with Dolly Parton tracks and the 59th Carnegie International? One heck of an art party!
This year, the School of Art community gathered in the Sculpture Court at the Carnegie Museum of Art for our annual start-of-year party. CMU College of Fine Arts Dean Mary Ellen Poole and Head of School Meg Bisineer offered opening remarks, followed by a special invitation to see the 59th Carnegie International from co-curator Liz Park. One of the exhibiting artists, Ginger Brooks Takahashi, DJ-ed the night’s music, and everyone — students, faculty, staff, and friends across the city — spent golden hour celebrating in conversation together.
