Sobia Ahmad MFA ’24 was awarded an Allegheny Arts Revival Grant, administered through the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council. The program supports the recovery of the County’s arts and culture community by providing $10,000 general operating grants to 35 organizations and $5,000 to 20 individual artists for the creation of new work.
Experimenting with modularity, Ahmad is reimagining a traditional South Asian woven daybed as an itinerant one that creates spaces of gathering for participatory weaving and storytelling workshops around Pittsburgh.
