Professor Angela Washko will give a keynote address at the Clash of Realities Summit in Cologne, Germany, on November 18. Washko will present several different strategies for performing in and transforming online environments that are especially hostile toward women, trans, and non-binary people. She will additionally discuss her independent video game projects which propose new approaches to critical storytelling, perspective, and representation in video games.
The Clash of Realities international research conference provides the opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange and dialogue. Experts from the academy, science and research, economics, politics, and the game industry will discuss pressing questions concerning the artistic design, technological development, and social perception of digital games, as well as the spreading of games literacy.
