Relive a mesmerizing night of audiovisual performances and immersive installations by Professor Suzie Silver’s Expanded Cinema class.
On Friday, November 22, “Blinking Flashing Night” brought 477 Melwood Avenue, the former home of Pittsburgh Filmmakers in Oakland, alive with a kaleidoscope of sound, light, and motion. This free, public event mixed multimedia performances, site-specific installations, and a high-energy dance party in a celebration of creative experimentation. The evening was the culmination of Professor Suzie Silver‘s Expanded Cinema course this fall, where students pushed the boundaries of traditional filmmaking to explore live cinema and immersive nightlife experiences. The night’s star attraction was renowned multimedia artist and DJ Malzof — aka School of Art alum Jules Malice (BHA ‘12) — whose special appearance added an extra layer of brilliance to this unique event.
