The Italian label Superpang released a new recording by Professor Geneva Skeen titled “Universal Building Supply,” which is now available on Bandcamp.
“Universal Building Supply” was recorded in Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn in June and July of 2021 during Skeen’s final sprint of graduate school. Alongside the exhibition center was a large drainage ditch which, most of the summer, was filled with floodwater and frogs. One of these stormy afternoons a loose branch took down a powerline behind Claudette and Riel as they sat outside smoking. It sparked, caught fire, and took out electricity to the entire building.
