Rebecca Harrison

Adjunct Professor of Art

Rebecca Harrison is a repair and fit expert, circular fashion advocate, educator, and entrepreneur. In 2019, she founded Old Flame Mending, a Pittsburgh-based sewing service that focuses on repair and alterations to help extend the life of clothing and textiles. She grew up in Washington County, 45 minutes south of Pittsburgh, and attended SCAD to earn her BFA in Fibers/ minor in Design for Sustainability. She has worked in a variety of environments, including farms, personal styling, costuming, screen printing, tailor shops, and teaching. Her work explores resource exploitation, ecological and cultural landscape, and slow fashion. She is a member of the Rustbelt Fibershed and has a studio at Radiant Hall Lawrenceville.
