Nykyta Alexander Kuzmicz

Nykyta Alexander Kuzmicz is an interdisciplinary artist from Toronto, Canada, originally from Edmonton, Alberta.  He earned his BFA from the Ontario College of Art and Design University in 2015, including a year of study in Florence, Italy.  His practice encompasses diverse forms of mark-making and recording of matter and data.

Nykyta explores themes of dysfunction, transformation, memory, and ascension.  At these intersections, he examines and reclaims the generational narrative of his lineage.  Residuals of difficulty, perseverance, and possibility — as they relate to family of origin, pathological and endocrine systems, gender identity, and death — develop persistent inquiry within his practice and influence his sense of positionality in place and time.
