Leah Minsky is an artist studying 3D animation and technical art, visual effects and creative technology. Her interest in art began with theatrical scenic art and traditional painting, to which the textural and material studies involved in these areas would go on to inform her current practice in many ways. At this time, she is focusing on procedural workflows and has been teaching herself abstract visual effects in Houdini for the past year and half. Regardless of the medium, her work is often rooted in how she can communicate the impression of expressive life and material quality in the digital world. In doing this she hopes to create unique sensory experiences that bring us closer to our bodies and the imperfections of the natural world.
