Alex Lukas MFA ’18 and Leah Mackin Release Latest DBQ Publication at the Philadelphia Art Book Fair

Alex Lukas MFA ’18 and Leah Mackin are pleased to share a new DBQ pamphlet highlighting Alexander Calder’s Immobile Mobile for Eight Hanging Banners, 1975 – Present  released at the Philadelphia Art Book Fair.

Part of Equity Commonwealth’s corporate collection and originally commissioned by developer Jack Wolgin, the work now resides in the lowest level of Centre Square at 1500 Market Street in Center City Philadelphia. DBQ’s new pamphlet, a two-color risograph pamphlet (15“ x 3.75”, Edition of 100) explores the history of this never-exhibited late work by one of Philadelphia’s most revered artists. Intended to be in dialogue with Claes Oldenburg’s iconic Clothespin and Jean DuBuffet’s Milord La Chamarre, both on display at the same location, today it is an immobile mobile amongst the automobiles. will be distributed for free at the Philadelphia Art Book Fair in anticipation of a forthcoming DBQ publication.
