As part of the Next Level Festival 2019, Professors Paolo Pedercini and Angela Washko exhibit works in the exhibition “Balancing Acts” in the former mining facility Zeche Zollverein in Essen, Germany. The festival takes place November 29 through December 1. Pedercini will exhibit “Lichenia” while Washko will exhibit “The Game: The Game.”
From the joy and terror of stabilizing your own body at great height, to weighing your options in a chaotic situation, to upholding fairness in a dispute, the experience of balance cuts through many aspects of games, life and society. “Balancing Acts” presents a wide selection of games, playful installations and related media that invite visitors to collaboratively reflect on the design and experience of balance.
