Stephanie Flati

Adjunct Professor of Art

Steph Flati is the Middle School Visual Arts Teacher and the Visual Arts Department Chair at Winchester Thurston School in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The 2025-2026 school year will be her twentieth year teaching art full-time with fifteen of those years being at Winchester Thurston. Prior to that, she taught Pre-Kindergarten through Second Grade visual arts at Germantown Academy near Philadelphia. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from La Roche University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from The University of the Arts. Steph hopes that through her course at Carnegie Mellon she will inspire the students to find joy in teaching the visual arts to future generations. She lives in Churchill with her boyfriend and their three cats.
