Yiying Wang is an interdisciplinary artist born in Yunnan, China. She received her BFA from Parsons School of Design in 2023. She was a participant in the 2024 Interdisciplinary Art and Theory Program in Manhattan, NY. She attended Yale Norfolk School of Art in 2022 and participated in the Art Dialog 2022 symposium in Gallery Klenová, Czech Republic.

In Absentia is an artwork that proposes a fictional exhibition to be installed in an office in Midtown Manhattan, exploring glass as an architectural material imbued with utopian ideas. This show would display miniatures of 20th-century glass architectures that were either destroyed or never built: El Lissitzky’s Cloud-Iron, the Crystal Palace, Bruno Taut’s Glass House, FrankLloyd Wright’s East Village Towers, and Mies van der Rohe’s Friedrichstrasse Skyscraper.}
