Sarah Di
Briefly describe your artistic practice.
I work with textiles, coding, music, and film and gravitate towards things that feel strange and uncomfortable. I try to find the comfort in that discomfort with humor and randomness.
What are you currently working on?
I just finished my installation, Playful Foods, for the upcoming Senior Art Exhibition at the Miller ICA. After this, I will resume a back-burner video game project about growing up near the woods.
How has your artistic practice changed since you came to CMU?
Coming to CMU gave me the opportunity to experiment with a wide range of machines and tools, ranging from the axidraw to computerized flat knitting machines. Learning about these tools has given me license to create virtually anything my mind can come up with, which has been freeing for my artistic practice.
