The CMU Undergraduate Student Senate and the Graduate Student Assembly selected a work by first year School of Art student Bella Alt for permanent installation. The work, titled “Four Birds,” will be installed on the fifth floor of Wean (across from La Prima) by the end of the semester.

The Senate and GSA received 32 submissions by 25 students or teams of students for 7 installation locations. These submissions then underwent four rounds of review by the Senate Business Affairs committee, GSA Campus Affairs Committee, representatives of the University’s facilities and design teams, and the Public Art Subcommittee before Alt’s work was chosen.
