Professor Johannes DeYoung Presents “The Endless Mile” at Stuttgarter Filmwinter Festival

DeYoung’s installation and live performance debuted at the 38th annual Stuttgarter Filmwinter Festival for Expanded Media in Stuttgart, Germany, January 16–20, 2025.


Professor Johannes DeYoung showcased his ongoing project, The Endless Mile, at the 38th Stuttgarter Filmwinter Festival for Expanded Media in Stuttgart, Germany. The festival, held January 16–20, featured DeYoung’s work as part of its International Expanded Media Exhibition.

Held at Kirche St. Maria, The Endless Mile was presented as a four-day installation paired with a live performance by organist Lydia Schimmer, Kapellmeister at St. Eberhard Cathedral in Stuttgart since 2022. The festival, which has highlighted media-based innovation since 1996, included 13 international artists exploring themes through installations, XR works, interactive projects, and performances at locations near the festival center, including Kunstbezirk and White Noise.

The Expanded Media Exhibition was organized and curated by Jonathan Debik, Esther Fehn, Yvy Heußler, Fabian Kühfuß, Claudia Preker, Nadja Weber, and Lili Weiss.
