Professor Johannes DeYoung’s video collaboration with Natalie Westbrook titled “Mirror Mirror (Double Vision)” debuts at Everyday Mooonday Gallery in Seoul, Korea. The animation accompanies Westbrook’s solo exhibition of new paintings.
“Mirror Mirror” opens June 17. DeYoung and Westbrook are frequent, long-time collaborators and their contribution to this show extends the acidic palette and gestural movement of Westbrook’s paintings into the realm of electronic, time-based media. A pulsating animation with a spellbinding soundtrack, the video collaboration offers a hypnotic flicker of fragmented faces and figures set against the vibrant glow of an undulating moon.
