Showcasing eleven multimedia installations created by a group of local artists and engineers, “LightPlay” is on view at the Carrie Blast Furnaces in Pittsburgh during select evenings from September 10 – October 1. The exhibition includes work by Professor Alisha Wormsley and alumni Shohei Katayama (MFA ’19) and Julie Mallis (BHA ’12).
“LightPlay” features a range of video projection and light-based installations that engage with the site’s intricate structural characteristics, cavernous pathways, and unique industrial aesthetic. The exhibition includes immersive light and sound installations, digital video artworks, and illuminated sculptures that transform the former blast furnace into a sensorial maze.
