Sobia Ahmad (MFA ’24) has been selected for the 2024-2026 Hamiltonian Artists Fellowship, a two-year program dedicated to nurturing emerging artists in the Washington, DC, area. Ahmad’s interdisciplinary practice explores the transcendental qualities of daily rituals and objects through photography, time-based media, and social practice. Her work will be part of a group exhibition at the Hamiltonian Gallery from February 8 to March 15, 2025, with a solo exhibition slated for 2026.

Founded in 2007 by painter and physicist Paul So, the Hamiltonian fellowship was designed as an incubator for emerging artists, offering exhibition opportunities, studio space, and one-on-one mentorship tailored to the needs of each cohort. The fellowship has supported over 100 artists, expanding their visibility and fostering professional growth within DC’s vibrant arts community.
