SUMMARY:Lecture Series: Janelle Iglesias
DESCRIPTION:Janelle Iglesias’ site-sensitive sculptures and installations investigate how objects mediate social relationships and how inanimate objects can be read as having a form of agency of their own. As part of her long-standing collaboration Las Hermanas Iglesias\, her work also extends into social practice and performance. Iglesias\, who is a visiting professor for the 2018-19 academic year\, has shown work at Sculpture Center\, The Queens Museum\, El Museo del Barrio\, Socrates Sculpture Park\, and Smack Mellon\, among others. \nAll lectures are free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the East Campus Garage after 5:00pm or on Frew\, Margaret Morrison\, and Tech Streets after 6:00pm.

SUMMARY:Lecture Series: Jeremy Deller
DESCRIPTION:Working across video\, installation\, and social events\, Jeremy Deller’s work often looks to history as a means to initiate dialogue with the public about the past\, the present\, and what the future could be. Deller received the Turner Prize in 2004 and represented Great Britain in the 2013 Venice Biennale. He has had solo exhibitions at the Palais de Tokyo\, the New Museum\, and the Hayward Gallery\, among many others. \nRobert L. Lepper Distinguished Lecture in Creative Inquiry. Organized in collaboration with Carnegie Museum of Art and Carnegie International\, 57th Edition\, 2018. \nAll lectures are free and open to the public.
