SUMMARY:52:17 Workstation
DESCRIPTION:Coco Allred presents “52:17 Workstation\,” a disruptive interactive sculpture in The Ellis Gallery. Make an appointment here and work your way around the clock\, alternating between two stations\, one for 52 minutes of work\, and the second for a 17 minute break. There will also be an opening on Friday\, February 28th at 5:00 pm. \n“52:17 Workstation” is part of “Working Units\,” a series of interactive sculptures exploring how ideas about play\, productivity\, and agency are used to shape the ideology of contemporary work and freelance culture. Mimicking the use of aesthetics\, language\, and behavior seen in contemporary workplaces\, Allred plays the role of an antagonistic consultant\, making each unit for a participant\, solving some problems while pushing other solutions to a state of chaos. This project is funded by The Studio For Creative Inquiry.
